April 30's eclipse is a partial solar eclipse.
Solar eclipses occur when the moon is positioned in between the sun and earth, creating a shadow that falls over the earth. (This phenomenon can only take place during the new moon phase.)
April 30 also happens to be phenomenon called a Black Moon, as it is the second new moon in the same month (there was also one on April 1).
A black moon carries the power of 100 new moons- and also means the veil to the other side is very thin. Be prepared for some powerful New Moon ritual outcomes if you partake.
This particular new moon and partial solar eclipse is in Taurus, and the theme is endings and new beginnings.
In ancient astrology eclipses were feared and deeply spiritual times- even though now we know not to fear eclipses, it is still a very powerful time – where the veil is thin insights are strong, and intuition is heightened.
Basically truths are revealed.
On the other hand- this eclipse is in the sign of Taurus – a sign where the moon is exalted. Taurus rules all things enjoyment: pleasure, nature, good meals, fine fabrics, etc. basically pleasures of life.
“In Vedic astrology this eclipse is happening in Nakshatra called Bahraini- One of the 27 lunar mansions. Each mansion is ruled by a god.“
Bahraini is ruled by the god Yama- The god of Death.
Deity: Yama (the God of Death and the King of Dharma (Justice). He is the God who upholds the Code of Social Morality.
And this eclipse can bring about “deaths” or endings for many of us.
This month May have also been very uncomfortable or stressful for some of us. But the storm has come to cleanse you of things that are no longer serving you.
These endings can be literal or figurative. Letting go of relationships, patterns, projects that do not serve us anymore. *Usually ones that we have been avoiding letting go fully.
This eclipse comes to stir things up, and push you to release it.

During this time, it’s also a time to think about who or what brings you pleasure, and align yourself with that energy.
While changes will definitely be on the horizon during this time, eclipses are a time to rest, recharge, and reflect.
Since the moon rules over the body, this can be a time where you may feel a bit more drained than usual, and since this is Taurus we’re talking about, it’ll be important that you prioritize what makes you feel good during this time.
Light a candle, enjoy some savory treats,nourish yourself, relax and get good sleep. Your comfort is the upmost priority right now.
The solar eclipse is in conversation with other activity in the night sky.
The same day as the eclipse, love planet Venus and expansive Jupiter connect in Pisces. (the two brightest planets in the sky- you can actually see them)
This conjunction, brings Venus and Jupiter within just one-half degree of each other, which is equal to the apparent width of the moon. This is the closest Venus and Jupiter have appeared since August 2016
Being that Taurus’s planetary ruler is Venus, feel empowered to take a creative leap — whether through starting an old hobby or reviving an old one.
We'll be drawn to anyone or anything that brings abundance, and makes us feel secure are what we are wanting to have in our lives.
