It's fall, so it's a perfect time to snuggle up with a blanket and hot cocoa and watch some spooky films! I don't know about you all but I don't always love super scary movies, and tend to lean more towards easy going cult classics! Year-round but especiallyyy in pumpkin season!!
I was watching number 1 on the list:
1.The Love Witch

You guys, this film is so interesting! I'm ashamed to say I had never seen it! First of all when I picked it and started it I thought it was a very old film- but when I looked it up I had to do a double take of the year. Made in 2016!!!
I was so confused and facinated because it looked so much like a film from the 60s!
The horror/comedy film was written, edited, directed, and produced by Anna Biller- and it was shot in velvety 35mm paying homage to technicolor melodramas of the 1960s, It follows a young and beautiful witch named Elaine whos obsessed with finding her happily ever after, no matter whom she has to betray or kill along the way.

Biller, was also the production designer and costumer (The lady literally did it all lol), and wow this movie is worth watching just for the vintage style! Apparently the only clothes in the movie that aren’t vintage or hand-sewn from vintage patterns were Elaines undies!! A feminist and spellbounding delight that makes you feel like you're watching something from the My Fair Lady era of film.
Inspired and craving more I asked you guys to give me some good viewing options and I've created a very solid list of yours and my favorites (most of witch I've seen- see what I did there?) But a few I haven't! But they're all worthy of binging; I'll be saving my favorite for last!
Good luck finding any of these for free, because I've found TV companies like to hoard these movies around Halloween time. (annoying!) But I have had luck in finding a few of them for free!

Moral of the story? They just don't make witch movies like they did in the 90s!!! Bring back 90's witch films!!! Actually 90's horror in general!!
Lol, I hope this helps inspire some spooky cozy popcorn filled movie nights!
xoxo- Stay spooky,
